Long time, no see. It’s been hard to gather enough new material for a blog post, and even though I don’t have too much this time around, I figured I might as well update everyone on what’s been going on. The title pretty much sums it up; since the new deadline for having my passport is December 1st, there was a sudden scramble to get everything ready for that. Of course, as is customary, there was a bit of a mix up.
So, a few days before we had our appointment scheduled to submit my paperwork, we went to get my photo taken for the passport. I took it, I looked funny, oh well. I don’t know of anyone who looks good on any form of identification, and if you do, don’t hesitate to inform me. Anyway, we go to the passport office and everything’s going fine. It’s pretty quick to get your paperwork submitted, it’s just the actual work itself that’s a bit time consuming, but nothing terrible. Turns out, they can’t use my picture. Why? Because I had on a headband. The rules said no head coverings were allowed, and I didn’t really think a few flowers counted as a head covering, but apparently it does. So we had to go get another picture taken and then submit the forms, all in the same day. It wasn’t really a big deal, because the woman who was doing it for us was incredibly nice and extremely helpful, and the people who took the picture took a new one (minus the headband) for free.
Cross country season just ended last week, which was bittersweet, considering my muscles constantly ache and my knees were ready to give out, but I’m going to miss my team a lot (and getting out of math class once a week). However, this gives me at least a little bit more free time, and allows me some more sleep. Lately, I’ve been busying myself with homework and researching the countries I want to go to. So far, I’ve changed them a bit. I’m looking into Croatia, Romania, the Netherlands, Poland, and some South American countries like Chile. I hope to have my blog updated with research about them by this weekend or the next.
Bye for now!
